The Light Of Individualism

Religion and politics have been a source of immense conflict from time immemorial, or to be precise right from the time civilizations came into being. Religion defines one’s way of life and politics determines one’s means of living thus, both are essential for the survival of a civilized man. Religion and politics often find compatibility with each other becoming easy tools for misuse by some self-centered political parties, and individuals as evident in history as well as contemporary politics; especially in India which could be seen as the smaller version of the entire world itself. Diversity is intrinsic to India as drawn from her history with countless occupations taking place, and the occupiers finding place for themselves to flourish and spread along with becoming influenced by the spiritual and philosophical aura characteristic of the Indian civilization; which being the oldest among all the other main civilizations existing in the world.

Eternity And Romance

A song unheard and sweet, it's words carried a meaning capable of bringing about a change in the hearts of countless who are craving for someone to be with till the end of their days. Their hearts have turned coarse and unclean after being betrayed and abused repeatedly just because they thought this world to be an ideal place one often sees in one's dreams.
She sighed and sang, sometimes in whispers and sometimes in an unrestrained ecstasy so that her voice imbued with the feelings of her heart and mind shall get conveyed to her lover who lives in her wake; such is the passion of youth when one's energy to thrive is at its peak and perrenial but, unable to pass on to one's old age. Thus, perenniality remains with the young and is characteristic of youthfulness.
When young a man or a woman wishes to conquer everything there is to see and touch in this world only to realize in the end that life is much more, transcending both birth and death not to forget our transie…

The Funny Thing About Cricket

A game of bat and ball in which the bat is made to score centuries, and the ball is made to prevent those centuries from being scored. Both the bowler and the batsman are protagonists of the field, whereas the fielders represent the supporting actors who stand firm for the success of the bowler. As the match progresses the two parties cheering from the pavilion seem to have an upper hand alternatively as per the delivery of the bowler, or shot selection by the batsman.
The green grass is their stage where the actors perform to their heart’s content with the audience bursting in applause from all sides unlike a film shooting in the sets, or even in a real life location. The azure blue sky bestows its blessing and light during daytime, and the ever bright spotlights after the sun sets so that the little circular ground doesn’t lose its glamour characteristic of a dream dreamt by millions to touch one’s forehead on the sacred earth of the ground.
Cricket has evolved into a dream itself fr…

An Ideal Dream

I was surrounded by friends who accepted me even though I was annoying as they understood it is my very nature; unique to only me. Many a times I kept a beard and sometimes I didn't for a change but none did ever mind because they were my true friends who lived as individuals respecting each other's individuality.

Sometimes I decked my brow with an ochre mark in the shape of a flame; mark of strength and zeal. The mark never mattered as much as my conduct as a human being did so descending from the shore of a temple I was greeted by my friends as I always have been cause the mark of my faith didn't change the man who I am. There was no need for me to adjust neither was there any need for them to do the same cause we were friends.

I was an individual- free and boundless like the sparrow scrounging and chirping with those of his kind without any expectations to fulfil in order to be with those of his kind. We danced when it rained, sat silent and meditated under a nameless…

The Uncivilised Human

How often we have heard our friend say, especially a male friend particularly talking to another male friend that: "Agar yeh mil jaye na kahi toh iski ma ki ****, vo dekh saali ki g*** kitni mast hai, oye Deepak apun sey panga mat liyo Delhi gangrape suna hai na bhai, bhai dekh hume chahiye c*** tuh kahi sey bhi jugar laga, sala shant betha rehta hai jarur chamar hoga, beta yeh India hai yaha apne hisaab sey jeena guna hai isliye bhai post grad karne Denmark jaunga aor vahi settle ho jaunga, Kaha angrez aor kaha hum tussi Russian prostitute dekhe ho.
Bh***!, Mad******!, Behen****!, Hara*****!, Rund**!, Dalit!, Ma ki ****! are terms which have replaced the very Namaskar and Kaise ho aap thus, becoming an integral part of our vocabulary today.
There was a time when this sky painted blue by the rays was our world and source of inspiration; gazing at which relieved us from our sorrow and restlessness that results in all the ills we see around us. The sky is nothing much of a treasu…

An Upside Down World

The title may sound confusing and senseless or one may say it is something often heard from old folks who are unable to comprehend the young; the rulers of the present generation. Well, being young anyone would say the old are fools and nothing more than a big hindrance on our path to glory and change which if subjected to further rumination one is prone to this realisation that they are not completely wrong in opposing the young.
The open and way too liberal culture of the west, especially the Hippie movement of the 1960s have become a source of tremendous inspiration when it comes to rebellion against social norms and codes of conduct that govern a particular society. The young brimming with energy and vitality are always eager to correct what they think to be wrong; so terms like change, rebellion, revolution allure them like blooming flowers allure bees. Many a times driven by impulse they fail to respect and understand other people's views and thinking though fighting for in…

India: Discovering Sex

The entire nation stood up together at the time of the tragic Nirbhaya ordeal so that the perpetrators face the consequence befitting their heinous crime. The word ''Nirbhaya'' has become so common that reporters and editors often include it whenever writing a news report on rape and murder; indicating that brave girl who fought till the end opening the eyes of the ignorant at the national level.
Many term this age of technology and development as Kalyug: rife with conflict and turmoil both within and without the lives of the ordinary people. The way our society is treating its women who are the foundation of any society across the globe, and even in other planets where through sexual reproduction life is introduced (though they may not be termed as woman there) proves that Kalyug is at its peak whose roots have dug deep, and are still aiming to dig deeper.
